Connection string for excel file

Hey all, first time poster.

I am a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) analyst and I use ACCESS and EXCEL alot for data extraction to bring into my GIS system. I have a vbScript file that was created before me at my company that uses a connection string to an EXCEL file. The script IS NOT working anymore. What puzzles me is that I don't think I even need to use this script to import records from this EXCEL file.

What I'm getting at is, why couldn't I just import the records I need for my GIS and be done with it? WHAT I THINK is wrong is the script is calling for some fields that I THINK were erased, but I'm guessing.

Anyhow, I have a copy of the script, I don't know how to post it on this forum.
